Well, its sand paper. Howerver, it fits great, cuts well, and the sander is awesome. It gets into every place that the 5" cant. It makes round things round and flat thing flat all the way into the corner.
This paper sands well when new but clogs quickly with plastic paints and the grain coverage seems less dense than many papers. Overall it is about average but due to the unique size and no real alternative brands, its a premium price for average paper.
This is good stuff. It is indispensible for rounding edges on artistic stuff I do with a scroll saw.
On bare wood it works great. I have used Fein velcro backed sandpaper for a couple of years and it works great. Don't press to hard and keep it moving on painted surfaces it will last a reasonable amount time. The price is the only drawback. If you get it on sale it's definitely worth it.
i purchased a fein detail sander with all the bell and whistles. i was sick 300 plus dollars and paper wont stay on. i purchased it to mainly use as a detail sander, well the sandpaper velcro backing would fail within a few minutes of use. this is the paper that came with it. ordered fein velcro sandpaper works great. i can sand and sand till the sandpaper side wears out and the velcroe still holds tight.
